Yes you can, but I would strongly recommend that you only but one or the other on the cake because marzipan tastes horrible with any topping apart from icing. Also marzipan is unbelievably high in sugar!
Hope this helps.. x:)

I have no idea about the cost of fondant. However, you can make an at-home version of fondant by melting icing to a liquidey consistency or by applying icing as it is from the tub to a still-hot cake. This will cause the icing to melt, but as you layer it, it will cool and form an icing that is more consistent with fondant, than the thick spread that is usually on cake.
There are ones online for sale for almost $50. It does have a fondant covering. I hope that helps.
Your wedding is the most wonderful day of your life. But let’s face it – we all don’t have the budget to have the wedding of our dreams. One way to make the most of your wedding budget is to bake your own wedding cake. Wedding cakes can cost thousands of dollars, and by making it yourself you can save a lot of money. Baking your own wedding cake is easy. The most important thing to making your own wedding cake is to practice, practice, practice! The best recipe to use is a modified store-bought cake mix recipe. This recipe is delicious, moist, and is firm enough to work with fondant or icing, and does not taste like it came from a box. Do not use the recipe on the box of cake mix when covering the cake with fondant. Making the cake as directed produces a light and fluffy cake. When used with fondant, the corners of the cake break away and it crumbles under the weight of the fondant. The modified recipe works best with either icing or fondant. It is made by mixing one box of devil’s food cake mix with one small package of instant chocolate pudding, four eggs, one cup of sour cream, one half cup of vegetable oil, one half cup of water, and two cups of chocolate chips. Beat these ingredients for two minutes and pour into a pan that has been greased with shortening. Shortening works best for cake release. You can rent the large, wedding-size cake pans from many cake supply stores. When baking a large cake, the spring form pan works best when removing the cake from the pan. Visit Wilton.com to find batter amounts and cooking times. After you bake your cake, let it cool in the pan for ten minutes before removing it. Let it cool upright. Wait for it to cool completely and then freeze. Decorate with icing, or with fondant. Look for recipes online for homemade marshmallow fondant. It tastes great, is really cheap, and is easy to work with. However you decorate it, you are sure to be pleased with this delicious, homemade wedding cake.
There are many sites available to purchase commercial cake decorating supplies such as cake pans, bakewear, rolled fondant and more. The following sites I suggest and would recommend are: www.officedepot.com, www.cooksdream.com and www.shopbakersnook.com
A good selection of cake pans is crucial, as are decorating bags and a large assortment of decorating tips. If one is planning on using fondant, cutting tools will be needed and if one will be creating gum paste flowers then molds will need to be purchased as well.
If you're trying to make a three-dimensional race car to put on top of a cake and your icing keeps collapsing, then try using something with a bit more structural integrity like fondant or marzipan instead. If you mean the question literally, I don't think we can help you.
One can learn to make a fondant at the Sugar Coated Chronicle. This blogspot has multiple posts and its instructions are extremely through and detailed enough that an amateur can probably create a fondant.
I'm not really sure how much it costs, but it is probably a reasonable price at walmart. Answer They generally run about $50, decorated. You can make a plain one for less than that, if you have a good pan.
I'm making 2 10 inch cake and 2 8 inch cakes with 2 pounds of fondant be enough, I'm stacking the 2 10inch cakes together and 2 8inch cakes together to make a 2 tier cake, will 2 pounds of fondant be enough?
Both are true, depending on the context. "Some cake" would apply to a slice, "a cake" would be appropriate to describe the whole dessert.
