You can just use antibacterial soap if it's easier for you; otherwise, measure a quarter tbsp. of sea salt & pour one 8 oz. glass of warm water & clean your piercing with that.

It needs to be said that "sea salt saline" is not in any way a "cleanser", and if made and used in the above method will actually burn the piercing and do nothing for aiding in the cleaning.

Common Sense seems to go out the door when folks get piercings, they don't stop to question "why" they are instructed to do "something" with the piercing.

If you cut yourself, are you ging to be dorking around with it every day soaking it in salt water? Ahh..... No chances are high that you will simply wash the cut, dry it, then put a band-aid on it. You will leave it till tomorrow where you may put a new band-aid on once the old one get's dirty. There's no soaking, or building a caustic concotion to clean it with.

With a piercing (any piercing) all that is required is to "flush the piercing daily", this is simple to do and will keep the piercing happy and healthy. No need for sea salt soaks or woo woo magic stuff from a jar or tube or spray bottle.

It's all hype, really it is.

In the shower, soap up and rinse off shampoo and conditioner done and finished. Now before exiting the shower, simple let the water hit the piercing and move the jewellery back and forth throught the piercing. Once the water gets into the piercing, the jewellery will move much easier. That's your cue to stop with the flushing. Exit the shower, dry off and dry your piercings with a clean towel. That's it your done your after care.

Any time you are in the shower just flush the piercings in the same manner and nothing else needs to be done. Too simple huh, yup and a lot less expensive than all that screwing around buying bottled stuff or making a caustic solution to soak your piercing in.

A real professional body piercer with years of experiance who knows how the body heals piercings will never tell you to buy this or that or make this stuff up and do this with it. It's a cash grab, money out of your pocket and into the shop's till. The routeen I laid out has worked just fine for all my clients over the past 20 years, and it still works today. Try it it's too simple.

When cleaning a piercing does using uniondized salt hurt?

If you were to clean your piercing with salt by itself, it would certainly hurt! What people actually clean their piercing with is saline solution- a mix of sea salt and water. (A good ratio to use is 1 table spoon of salt per cup of water.) The saline solution itself should not hurt your piercing. However, sometime cleaning a piercing will irritate it. This may hurt, but the salt is not responsible.

Can you use neosporin on your nose piercing?

You can't use the ointment but you can use the cream. The ointment is too thick and suffocates the piercing. You really don't need it though. Unless you scratch it with jewelery or something. Natural sea salt and water is fine for cleaning.

How do you stop a nose piercing you did yourself from getting infected no stupid comments about home piercing you think i dont already know...?

It's best to use a sterile needle to do the piercing in the first place, but to keep the piercing from getting infected, I would suggest using 'Satin Thereputic Skin Cleanser'. This is an anitmicrobial soap made specifically for cleaning piercings. You should also soak the piercing in hot water mixed with non-iodized sea salt (not epsom salt) several times per day for the initial healing time. That happened to me. It's best just to take it out let it heal then do it again with a sterile needle and sterile nose ring. Second Answer Salt and water. It will sting. It must be SEA SALT, not table salt. I cannot stress this enough. Good luck. :)

Will it hurt to put Epsom salt on a nose piercing?

You don't want to put Epsom Salt OR table salt on ANY piercing. They contain sugar and will cause infection. The ONLY thing to put on a fresh piercing is SEA SALT. Using 1/4tsp of sea salt with 8oz. of warm water, and soak the piercing for about 10 minutes twice a day. It is the best thing to help heal your piercing. When you are in the shower, use Dial soap to clean it also. But sea salt soaks are amazing for helping heal a piercing.

How do you manage a nose ring piercing right after . Should I wait 2 days or threes?

Soak your piercing in a mixture of warm water and natural sea salt. Put a pinch of sea salt into a shot glass full of warm water. Soak your piercing for about 5 mins no more than twice a day or you'll dry out the piercing. If the salt is too drying just use it every other day and use warm water instead. Don't ever use alcohol or hydrogen peroxide because it kills whats helping your piercing heal.
