you may wash it, but once you have dyed your hair you have to just run water through it slowly massage the scalp because colour removes colour as the colour will stain your scalp and your ears, forehead, neckline etc, so one the water runs crystal clear you may run a shampoo and conditioner through it

You can dye your hair with kool aid and it will wash out very quickly.
