After the Doberman mission, when CJ & Sweet have put Glen Park back into the domain of the Grove Street families, CJ can go into rival territories and start a turf war. Once he has started shooting at the rival gangs inside their territories, this should start the fight. The territory will flash red on the map and CJ has to eliminate all the rival gang targets within the area. Once he has eliminated them all, the territory will turn to green on the map, showing that it is belonging to the Grove Street families. Now and then, the rival gangs will try and take over the territories again and they will flash red to show there is a takeover attempt. CJ has to go back to the territory flashing red and protect it, otherwise the rival gang will take it back under their control. According to the number of territories under Grove Street control, money will start clocking up outside of the Johnson House for CJ to collect. It is worth remembering, that, after the Green Sabre mission, CJ will lose all the gained territories until he comes back to Los Santos again on the last bout of missions to get back territories for Grove Street. So if you take a lot of effort taking over many territories before that time, it will all be lost. Don't forget, CJ can recruit his homies (up to seven, depending on his respect levels) to help out at times. A helpful weapon for gang wars? The molotov cocktail.
