i dont think so
You have to be kidding. Of course not.
the durangs came with either a v6 im not sure what size, or a 5.2 318 or a 5.9 360 you can swap the 5.2 and 5.9 pretty easily if it has the v6 its a chore
The diesel engine in a 2007 Dodge Sprinter is a 3.0L V6.
Inline 6
Yes. A 3.9 v6 engine from a 1995 Dodge Dakota will fit into a 2000 Dodge Dakota with a 3.9 v6 engine. You will have to swap the intake and exhaust manifolds along with all sensors and fuel rail though.
If a v6 or v8, yes. V10 or diesel, no.

Automatics that year were 42RE for a V6 46RE for a V8 47Re for V10 or Diesel. Manual for a V10 or Diesel was the NV4500
Pretty much any 4.3 V6 from 1995 to 2005. For the exact same ones, that would be 1996 to 2002 model year. As for doing an engine swap, you can swap in a number of different engines, if you have the time, money, resources, and know-how. A GM small block could be swapped in, or you could swap in a 3.9 Cummins 4BT or 3.9 Isuzu diesel (for the latter, adapters are more readily available to mate it with the 4L60E transmission in your Astro).

No, you can not find a half-ton, V6 diesel. There are none currently on the market, at least none that are factory made. 2014 will be the first production year a half-ton pick-up truck will be factory fitted with a V6 diesel engine. Chrysler will introduce the new Dodge Ram 1500 with a half-ton, V6 diesel engine in the third quarter of 2013.
Yes there are plenty of V6 diesel engines.
