yes
As of my last update in October 2023, Kraft had discontinued its Pimento cheese slices. While there may be other brands or variations of pimento cheese available, Kraft's specific product is no longer in production. For the most current information, it's best to check Kraft's official website or recent product announcements.
I can't find it anywhere did Kraft stop making it? I want to start making it my self.
Sadly, you cannot, that I know of. When I was a kid, and even into my teens, Kraft still made Neufchatel cheese spread with pineapple, in a jar. The cheese was more like a thickish cream cheese, but a tiny bit sweet, maybe from the pineapple. It was delicious and my mom used to stuff celery with it and put it on crackers. I am going to try to make something similar this Thanksgiving using Kraft Neufchatel cheese in bar form and mixing in tiny bits of pineapple. I might even add in some finely chopped walnuts or pecans. I found it at shopfoodex dot com; look for kraft pineapple cheese spread.
The dates on Cooper Brand pimento cheese spread indicate the product's "best by" or "use by" date, which is meant to ensure optimal freshness and quality. These dates help consumers understand when the product is at its best for taste and texture. It's important to note that the cheese may still be safe to consume after this date, but its quality may decline. Always check for signs of spoilage before consumption.
I bet you can freeze it. It's not like tomatoes or strawberries, that pretty much have to be cooked or blended straight from the freezer. As far as spoilage, I just opened a package that said best if used by Feb 2008, and it's July. It still smells like a fresh pack. I just ate a half sandwich of it, so we'll see! That may sound crazy, but I've always followed the smell test and pimento spread is made with cheese and vinegar, so I believe it's pickled in a way. ---------Are you insane ? Pimento cheese is NOT made with vinegar. Cheese, mayonnaise & pimentos (the basis .... some add other thing such as worcestershire, cayenne pepper, salt etc - but NOT vinegar) You should NOT FREEZE PIMENTO CHEESE, The oil sin the mayo & cheese separate which makes for an edible but unpleasant P.C. cheese & vinegar .....EWWW ! Shudder ! (pickled cheese ? gag!) --------Palmetto Cheese has an article on their site along with pictures as to what happens when you freeze pimento cheese....not a good idea. Here's the link to the article. http://www.palmettocheese.com/blog/can-you-freeze-pimento-cheese/
There are many companies in the world who manufacture cheese. Kraft foods is one of the top companies who make cheese. Kraft is so popular in fact, the nearly 98% of American have a Kraft cheese product in their refrigerator.
The sell-by date on food products is a guideline for stores to know how long to display the product for sale. It is not a safety date. The safety of consuming pimento cheese after the sell-by date depends on factors such as how it has been stored (refrigerated at the correct temperature), if there are any signs of spoilage (such as off odor, mold, or unusual texture), and if the packaging is intact. If the pimento cheese appears and smells normal, it is likely safe to eat even after the sell-by date, but always use your best judgment and when in doubt, throw it out.
Because they stopped making it.
It's still sold in stores (ralphs/kroger and walmart in california) mainly next to velveeta and other processed cheeses
Nope! According to their facebook answer to this question. They say it's because "we" didn't buy enough of it for them to continue to make it.
Actually, yes. Kraft still is continuing the line of noodle classics.
Laughing Cow cream cheese spread is sold all over the United States including Tucson, Arizona. In Tucson, it can be found at Fry's, Albertsons's, and Safeway stores.
