From what I know, have your cartilage already pierced before you try to gage it. I pierced my own, then once it healed i put a 14 gauge through it. It didn't really hurt but pinched a little.
if it's 14-gauge then it's 14-gauge.
14 gauge is thicker than 16 gauge.
16 gauge is smaller than a 14 gauge. You can buy a stretcher and stretch the hole.
14 gauge is larger than 16 gauge. 14 gauge is 1.6mm (0.06") and 16 gauge is 1.29mm (0.05").
Putting a 14 gauge barbell through a piercing the size that it was pierced at, around a 20-18 gauge, is not recommended because you will be skipping sizes. But if you can put it through with no pain or blood then your'e good to go. You cannot put it straight through without a prior piercing. If it has been pierced and completely healed and already stretched to 16 gauge, yes.
Um, yes. Anytime you stretch a piercing it will hurt. Wait until it heals fully. Or, you can buy hollow needles, the kind used to tag cattle..(they are sterile) which is better. You shouldn't even do it yourself it could become infected.
You would have 14 gauge holes in your ears. It's the same basic process as piercing anything else and not much pain at all. I had mine done with a ten and it didn't hurt as bad as the one I had done with a gun.
14 gauge has been made.
14 gauge
The recommended gauge of wire to use for a 12 or 14 gauge wire is typically 10 gauge wire.
15 gauge is 1.45mm and 14 gauge is 1.63mm
