Best Answer

Potentially; most individuals with ADHD have more thoughts in general due to lacking the ability to tune out distractions, but this does not necessarily apply to everyone with ADHD. Positive attributes of ADHD cited are often creativity and zany outlooks on life.

Is ADHD physiological or psychological?

ADHD can have physiological or psychological symptoms. ADHD and autism are typically associated with neurological development problems with the brain. The brain wiring in a person with ADHD or autism is not as efficient as a person without ADHD or autism. The brain circuitry isn't wired as well, thus leading the brain to struggle with cognition and attention span.

Do teenage boys with ADHD have to pay more for car insurance?

I have not seen a case where a child with ADHD has been charge more for auto insurance that any child of the same sex and age. This is a good question because the auto application does ask if any drivers have any disability and ADHD could be proven to cause more of a risk of an accident. Due to the attention problems that ADHD cause, and insurance company could easily make the case that a child with diagnosed ADHD would be at a higher risk of having an accident than a child without such a disability. I believe that insurance companies would have to reduce the rates of children without such disorder and make the rates even out in order to make it basically even to them overall but reduce those without ADHD and increase those with ADHD in order to be fair.

Can an individual with ADHD be able to focus on tasks?

Yes; ADHD is often misunderstood for being only an inability to concentrate. More appropriately, ADHD is a disability that effects a person's control over their focus; it's not a lack of focus but a lack of regulation of a person's focus. Individuals with ADHD can "hyperfocus" for extended periods on highly stimulating tasks while at the same time be unable to sit for a minute on more boring tasks.

Do kids with ADHD become violent?

They can, as they get bored easily and this annoys them. if you keep them doing rigorous activities they shouldn't get bored too soon. Also these Children need lots of extra attention and will get violent if it is not given to them. Most will grow out of it with time. I don't agree with the previous answer. From my experience and study, like any kids, kids with ADHD CAN get violent, but they are not necessarily more violent than other kids. It is far more common for them to just ignore people (because they are distracted) or act more impulsively. If they have LEARNED violent responses from others they may be a little more likely to act out violently on impulse but that would make them blend in more with the others around them (who are not ADHD but are acting violently) rather than make them stand out. Lack of attention won't make ADHD people be violent, it just makes them more likely to act in socially inappropriate ways since they are not paying attention to the reactions of others around them.
