Interestingly this question depends on how you characterize the word minister. In The Bible (Matthew 28) Jesus gives the great commission to all that believe and follow Jesus Christ. This sentiment is echoed in later teachings of the Bible such as I Corinthians 5 challenges Christians as "fellow workers". Peter in I Peter addresses Christians as a "holy priesthood". All of this supports the idea that all believers are ministers and so this would mean that there are quite a few in North America.

There are different types of minister and many different countries in America but generally they all have ministers of some description.

The ministers in the United States are distinct from those in parliamentary countries since the US executive is separate from the US legislature. Ministers in Congress are called Congresspersons. Ministers in the Executive are called Cabinet Members or Secretaries.
