Bluestar dies in the end of the fifth book of the original series because of a pack of German Shepherd dogs pull her into the river with them and then Fireheart pulls her out to safety but she knows she's already on her way to Starclan. And then she dies, leaving Fireheart to become Firestar, leader of Thunderclan.
