No. The British Shilling was superceded by the 5 New Pence coin in 1968.
Due to "technical issues", the British Shilling and the 5 New Pence coins being of similar size and weight, continued to circulate side by side until 1990 when they were withdrawn from circulation along with the 5 New Pence and 5 Pence coins and collectively replaced by the new and smaller 18mm diameter 5 Pence coins.

Britain used Pounds, Shillings and Pence as their currency for many years. There were 12 Pence to the Shilling and 20 Shillings to the Pound. Many British Colonies and countries of the British Empire/Commonwealth also used Pounds, Shillings and Pence.
