No. I visited the Browning Web site and found that the only caliber they had close to the 280 was the 270. Of the moderate priced rifles a 280 can be obtained from Remington, Thompson Center and you might be able to find one in a Winchester Mod 70 Lightweight.
The gun is chambered for the 32 caliber Winchester center fire cartridge. Also known as the 32-20.
the 32 Winchester special lever action model 94 shoots a center fire, rimmed cartridge.
I paid $400.00 for mine in 35 rem. but bought a 223 barrel at a gun show in Dallas Tx. for $185.00

This gun was made in 1959 in Herstal Belgium. In 1959, Browning opened a service center in Canada and started engraving their barrels a St. Louis and Montreal. This Barrel marking remained from 1959 to 1969. Browning Shotguns were never made in Canada.
