I have a Dell Inspiron computer with operating system Vista Home Premium and I'm having trouble with my CD drive. It will not read most CDs, it will play the music CDs, but when I try to copy data, it says insert CD when a CD is already inserted. I've tried CD-RWs, an auto save photo CDs which I just purchased and they do not work. The drive does not recognize them. Memory sticks are very duriable compared to CD-ROMs this is because they do not get scratched, also CDs burn in the sunlight, memory sticks do not and they can withoutstand a hard impact, CD Roms can't.
If it's just one CD that doesn't work, it may be too badly scratched. Try fixing it (google 'fix scratched CD') or buy a new one. If you cant get any CDs to play, your system may be broken. Try contacting Bose: http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/contact/index.jsp

You can remove the CDs by ejecting the CDs from the CD player in the car.
Unless the player / stereo explicitly says otherwise, it is probably only capable of playing regular audio CDs, not MP3 CDs. There not really anything you can do to change this, except replace the equipment.
most of the newer CD players can play burnt cds
