This is because tax evasion is a crime and cannot be tolerated.
Claudius commits no crime in Act III. He is, however, forced to consider his previous crime of murdering his brother.
They have different motives. Claudius wants to keep his crime a secret, and Laertes wants revenge for his father's death.
Valentine was a priest who helped lovers marry secretly, which was considered as a crime. So claudius killed him and his death is celebrated as valentines day
Well, I suppose he was jealous of his elder brother because brother Hamlet got to be king and brother Claudius got to be a nothing. But what really made Claudius jealous was that he had fallen deeply in love with his brother's wife, and although she reciprocated, he couldn't have her for his own. Claudius lists his motives for his crime as "my crown, my own ambition, and my queen." Both the throne and Gertrude were motives, and he might not have done anything if he had only one of them.
Yes. Up to that point you see Claudius exclusively through Hamlet's skewed vision. In his "O, my offence is rank" speech, Claudius is shown to be a rational person, not the monster Hamlet believes him to be. He has committed a crime and a sin, and he knows it, and he knows that to really repent it he must give up the reward of his crime. Part of that reward is being married to Gertrude and he does not want to give that up because he loves her very much, no matter what Hamlet thinks.
That depends upon where you are and what the crime is. Here in Australia your crime would remain on record. A Pardon is not a statement of no guilt. It is a statement of having been forgiven for doing the crime.

He leaves part way through. The similarity of the crime depicted in the play and his own drives him crazy and he can't watch it any more. How do we know this? Because in the next scene Claudius is berating himself for the murder. "Oh, my offence is rank, it smells to heaven. It has the eldest primal curse on it--a brother's murder."
it means that you are forgiven. if you were sentenced for a crime it means that you are Released from the punishment or legal consequences of a crime, by the president (in a federal case) or a governor (in a state case) or whatever statutory authority happens to be in a position to do this. It does not mean however that you are no longer held responsible for the crime.

Because he believes that because King Claudius is praying, he soul will be cleansed. Because of this, he would not be damned to hell or purgatory when he dies. Instead, Hamlet decides to wait until King Claudius has slept with the Queen later that night before killing him (theoretically his soul would be sullied because of this). The reason this is such a big deal is because the ghost of old King Hamlet wanders trapped in purgatory since he didn't have a chance to confess his sins.
