I'm not exactly sure what you are asking, but I will say that he still has a little part of him that loves her, even though he knows Sandstorm loves him, and he loves her too. In Starclan will Firestar love Spottedleaf or Sandstorm?
At first Firestar loves Spottedleaf, but then Spottedleaf dies, so he starts liking Sandstorm. In Firestar's quest Sandstorm thinks she is only second best a backup. But then Firestar says that Sandstorm will always be his number 1 love. They then have two kits Squirrelflight and Leafpool. And Firestar will probably love Sandstorm in Starclan much,not Spottedleaf.

In Into the Wild Firestar comes in as Firepaw and Sandstorm(paw) hates him. She teases him with her friend Dustpelt(paw). When Firestar becomes a warrior Sandstorm hates him more because he becomes a warrior before she did. When she becomes a warrior she shows Firestar(heart) respect and falls in love with him. When Dustpelt still shows no respect for Firestar(heart) Sandstorm turns her back on him. Sandstorm becomes jealous when she remembers that Firestar had a love for the young Starclan medicine cat, Spottedleaf. He still loves Spottedleaf and she loves him back but she doesn't mate with him because she doesn't want to break the warrior code. In Firestar's Quest the two Thunderclan cats mate and have their kits Leafkit and Squirrelkit. Spottedleaf also tells Sandstorm their relationship and Sandstorm doesn't worry anymore.

No one is sure when Sandstorm or Firestar will die but most think that they will die together in a battle. Well Firestars death is said to linger in the pages of one of the Omen of the Stars books and Sandstorm's death is unknown so I would geuss Firestars death sentence would come before hers.

Sandstorm, I think, started falling in love with Firestar when she was an apprentice and Firestar saved her from falling over the gorge in book two (Fire and Ice). But she completely fell in love with him sometime after she became a warrior. Firestar, though, didn't really fall in love with Sandstorm 'till about the middle of thr fourth book (Rising Storm). However, they only confessed their love to each other until right before Firestar thought of a plan to trick the dogs in book five (A Dangerous Path).

Sometime in the original series. I know that they were in love by The Darkest Hour, and I believe they began to like each other in Rising Storm. They both confessed their love for each other in The Dangerous Path. Sandstorm at least fell in love with Firestar in book three (Forest of Secrets). Maybe Firestar only fell in love with her in book four (Rising Storm), but Sandstorm had already fallen in love long before he fell in love with her.
