That is a tough question! When Fireheart first came to the forest, he fell in love with Spottedleaf. However, Spottedleaf was a medicine cat and it was against the warrior code for her to love Fireheart. At this time, Sandstorm was rude to Fireheart but later she began to like him. Spottedleaf died and Firestar chose Sandstorm as his mate. He knew deep inside that he loved Spottedleaf more than anything, but they couldn't have been together so Firestar gave all his love to Sandstorm. In the last book of the 4 series of Warriors, Spottedleaf's spirit saves Sandstorm from being killed by Mapleshade. Firestar grieves as Spottedleaf fades, she can no longer live in StarClan. Instead of meeting her in StarClan, Firestar loses his last life (Tigerstar attacked him, Firestar killed Tigerstar's spirit but still died from the injuries) and has to wait for Sandstorm to accompany him someday.
