'Adam' simply means 'man' in Hebrew. So, we could write Adam out of the story altogether, replacing him by 'a man', or just have one or two references to Adam. Either way, as long as we let the first man speak Hebrew, a language otherwise not known until the second millennium BCE, Adam did not need anyone to name him.

AnswerBefore this can be answered, we need to know whether Adam really existed. Many scholars say, no he did not, that the stories of Adam andEve are purely allegorical. Yair Zakovitch, Dean of Humanities at Hebrew University is quoted as saying, "The thing to remember about the Bible is that the events and characters are just vehicles to convey messages. The biblical narrative was written to educate our young nation, not so much to tell us what really happened."

However, if The Bible is to be read literally, we may say that God did walk and talk with Adam.

Yes; holy writ says that when Adam was pure, before the forbidden fruit episode, he walked and talked with God.

Why did Adam not have a belly button?

Adam did not have a navel because he was directly created by God and not born of a woman,as to wether Eve had a navel is questionable ,sounds like a bit of prehistoric genital engineering, but as Adam was made in Gods own image I supose it depends on wether God has a belly button or not.
