Does God care if we all are perfect?

We cannot be perfect in this world. We are all imperfect because of our broken/sinful relationship with God.

But God does care, that is why He came as the man Jesus Christ. To pay the price for our broken relationship because the "wages of sin is death".

Yes indeed, the entire reason we are on this earth is to strive for perfection, Our Blessed Lord told us point blank: Be you perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect. He cares so much that He came to earth, suffered and died for us!

First, I don't think any of us are "experts" on what God "thinks" or cares about. My view may not agree with others here, but it is valid based on my understanding of 'God'.

There is only one "perfect" Being, and that is God (whether you believe in a One God or Trinity). If the argument is made that God wants humans to be "perfect", then, that would make us all just like God. I believe that is faulty. None of us can ever be "perfect" and NONE of us will ever BE 'God'.

Instead, God expects that we all know we are utterly imperfect and will never reach perfection, so that we each come to God to be complete in HIS perfection.

The Leviticus and Luke quote about perfection is taken out of context. Here is the text in which that quote appears:

He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? If by "perfect" you mean sinless, The Bible tells us that there was only one sinless person: Jesus. When the Bible uses the word "perfect" for a person (Abram, Job), or saying that we should be perfect (Matthew 5:48: "be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect"), it doesn't mean how we think of the word today. It means: complete, whole, holy. We humans can never be perfect while we live in a cursed, corrupt world, but we can be complete because of God's amazing grace, through Christ dying on the cross and shedding his blood for us.

Yes, in the sense that He wants us to do as much as we can in the effort to approach perfection. That's all He expects of us, since true perfection is beyond us.
