Yes it does. It was a very historical event in Ireland. It happened in 1916, so 2016 will see major celebrations. There are events in other years too, such as parades past the GPO, which is the building on O'Connell Street in Dublin which was the headquarters of the rising. GPO stands for General Post Office. The leaders are also commemorated in many ways, such as having streets and other things, like buildings, named after them.
