Yes.
A man once asked Jesus about "salvation."
"...Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have Eternal Life?" (Matt.19:16)
While modern professing Christianity would say, "There is nothing you can do, but only 'believe'"... Jesus told the man:
"...Why callest Me good? There is none good but One, that is, God: but IF THOU WILT ENTER INTO LIFE [that is if you will receive salvation] KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS." (verse 17)
The fourth Commandment (3rd if you're Catholic) is and has always been:
"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it Holy. Six days shalt thou labour and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: for in six days the Lord made the heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it." (Ex.20:8-11)
Not only that... but Jesus says that He is the Creator Lord God who made the Sabbath on the seventh day of creation:
"...therefore the Son of Man IS LORD also of the Sabbath." (Mark 2:28)
"All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made." (John 1:3)
Some people argue that because when the man queried Jesus as to "which Commandments" He meant, and Jesus didn't mention the Sabbath Commandment specifically... that remembering the Sabbath day is no longer required.
A perusal of Jesus' words reveals that He only mentioned the six Commandments that deal with man's relationship with his fellowman... and didn't mention the four that deal with our relationship with God.
If these rebellious folks who argue that the Sabbath day therefore is no longer required by God to be remembered on this basis... then they have to believe that the other Commandments Jesus didn't mention are also, now, okay to ignore.
We can now have any and all other gods before Him.
We may now worship all the idols we want.
And God's name is no longer sacred and holy.
No... Jesus says: "Keep the Commandments"... and "remembering the Sabbath Day" is still the fourth one.
"...Fear God, and Keep His Commandments: for this is the whole duty of man..." (Eccle.12:13).
Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.
Yes, Yeshua (Jesus) emphasized the importance of honoring the Sabbath day and refraining from unnecessary work. He taught that the Sabbath was made for man's benefit and should be a day of rest and worship rather than a burden.
Remember the sabbath, to keep it holy.
Yes. Exodus 20:8, " Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy" (Wikipedia)
Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy.
To keep the ordinances and commandments of God in keeping pure and spotless on sabbath day.
Some of the New Testament of the Holy Bible is a partial history of the life of Jesus of Nazareth.
The Sabbath is the holy day of rest. Most Christians now celebrate the Sabbath on Sunday, to commemorate Jesus' resurrection. The Sabbath is to be observed once a week.
by reading the bible,2 coming of jesus, praying, keeping the sabbath holy
The fourth commandment "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy" is a directive to emphasize the importance of observing the Sabbath rest. By starting with "Remember," it serves as a reminder to prioritize rest and worship regularly. This commandment is relevant because it promotes spiritual and physical renewal, fostering a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
When God first made the world, it took six days then rested on the seventh day. As part of the rules of Judaism, HaShem commanded that we honour the 7th day with a day of rest, this is called Shabbat. Shabbat starts sundown Friday and ends sundown Saturday. During Shabbat, Jews prayer and refrain from the 39 forms of work specified in the Torah.
The real sabbath day according to the Bible is the seventh day of the week (our Saturday). God blessed the seventh day of creation and set it apart for holy use. And He told us to remember and keep the sabbath day holy in the ten commandments. Many Christians believe the sabbath is now Sunday, but the Bible nowhere speaks of any change in the sabbath day. There is no such thing as a "Sunday Sabbath" because the Sabbath [the 7th day] looks back and is a memorial to creation, while Sunday [the 1st day] commemorates the resurrection but also looks ahead to the return of Jesus Christ. They are not the same
