No. But it can be made into a composite by adding glass, carbon, or kevlar fibers, among other things.
She created kevlar in 1965
Nomex is not a brand name of Kevlar. Nomex and Kevlar are both trademarked names for different, although similar, composite fibers. They are both ring compounds based on benzene. The difference is that Kevlar has para-oriented aromatic rings, making it about five times stronger than Nomex. Nomex has meta-oriented rings with 120-degree bond angles, which helps it not melt at high temperatures. That's why Kevlar is used for bullet-proof vests and Nomex is used for firefighter uniforms.http://www.stockcarscience.com/scienceTopics/scsDriverSafety_Firesuit.php
Yes kevlar is a smart material. Hope I helped :)
Yes it does Stephanie Kwolek the creater of Kevlar invented the fiber.
Kevlar is sewn in the same manner as other fabrics. Kevlar is manufactured in the form of fine fibers and made into thread which is twisted into rope or woven into fabric.
Artificial fibers are man-made. Some examples are rayon, nylon, and kevlar.
Those are fibers made by man, as opposed to plant or animal (natural) fibers. Examples of sythetic fibers include nylon, rayon, kevlar, dacron, etc.
Mostly rubber with high-tensile fibers made of fiberglass or Kevlar.

The? There are hundreds of strong fibers made from chemicals...but we'll be easy and say kevlar.
Kevlar is a very strong man made fiber. Although flexible it is stronger than steel. It is one of several fibers used to make (among other things) body armor. Strong, lightweight, and flexible.
Modern bulletproof clothing is made with a material called Kevlar, which has very strong fibers that are not easily snapped even by the impact of a bullet.

The protective plates, depending on the age of it, will be steel, ceramics, or kevlar.
KEVLAR! KEVLAR!
why do lumberjacks wear kevlar
