Percy Didn't Beat Luke exactly Luke was the hero but Annabeth talked to Luke. he then gained Control over Kronos and stabbed him in a certain place in his armor where it would make him die and would have Kronos defeated in the 5th book in the 3rd book he doesn't exactly "Defeat" Luke it just almost kills him.
Annabeth does not die but Luke does.
