Worker's Comp pays for medical bills and lost wages that result from an injury or illness arising from your work. If I fall off a ladder at work, it pays my medical bills- and if I can't work due to my injury, it replaces part of my wages. However, if I fall off a ladder at home, that is not Worker's Comp. I was not a worker.
If wages are paid of those workers which directly related with the manufacturing or units then wages are part of prime cost otherwise it is part of conversion cost.
Workers Comp is insurance provided by your employer. It covers employees that are hurt on the job. It covers your medical bills, and covers part of wages you lose if you are unable to work DUE TO AN ON-THE-JOB injury. You are covered from the minute you begin work.

If identified as wages, taxed both Federal & State. The wages would have been taxed if paid without settlement wouldn't they? (The "lost" part isn't taxed).
Workers comp payments (whether a settlement or not) are generally not taxable. However, if the payment causes your Social Security benefits to be reduced, the part of the benefit that reduces your SS payment will be treated as if it were an SS payment.
they are only required to carry workers comp, if there is atleast 5 employees that work in the retail part of the production.... but this excludes milkers, farm hands, ect. you may need to look in to see if a liability insurance is required
Each state has its own WC laws, and each state is a little different. Basically the laws are that if you are injured in the course and scope of your work, Workers Compensation insurance will pay for your medical treatment costs (Doctor, drugs, transportation costs) If you are unable to work, after a waiting period (typically 7 days) Workers Comp will replace a PART of your wages you usually earned. It is not required that you file a lawsuit against anyone. You must report the injury to your supervisor at once, and file an Employers First Report of Injury. SOME occupational diseases are also covered by Workers Comp.
Workers Compensation will only cover eye glasses if you eyes were damaged as part of your claim. They will not pay for you to get glasses just because you need a new pair.
