For virtual console games for Nintendo-based systems, since the naming scheme of buttons are the same across all Nintendo systems, any button in-game corresponds to the same button on the 3DS. (A = A, etc...) For convenience, when soft resetting a Game Boy virtual console game, the select button has also been mapped to the Y button. As there are no games from non-Nintendo systems yet, their control schemes are unknown at this time.
