SOLUTION: Ok... I HAD the same problem... Direct TV Remote wouldn't work with Olevia TV despite ANY codes that Direct TV or anybody replying to solution forums say they are. I DID find a solution though! Use the Remote's Code search function, BUT SKIP the first code that turns off the TV... CONTINUE to press the Channel + button after manually turning the TV back on after the first successful code that turns off the TV. This is the ONLY solution that I have found that works and I haven't seen it posted on any solution site. TRY IT.. BET IT WORKS FOR YOU AS WELL! (If not, skip the 2nd code as well... Olevia HAD to have copied a major brand-name's remote code scheme because all the generic TV manufacturers end up copying a known companies' setup... but a LOT of them neglect to tell you which brand they copied... I have owned many generic TV's that I couldn't get codes for for many remotes through the past 35 years... and this has been the case on ALL OF THEM!) Keep this in mind when you think you can't get a remote to control basic functionality with ANY TV and ANY remote.
I just found a remote code for my TCL L40FHDM11 tv: 651. It works, but I still have to use the remote that came with the tv to turn it on & off and for volume.
the dynex code is 096 for the Amino Aminet 125 remote control. Ensure your tv is turned off before entering the code. As stated in the Aminet user manual, the red light on the remote should turn off when the correct code is entered, but you have to manually click the tv button on the remote to turn the light off. This should work.
You can still program the remote with the converter box off if you know the code. Then Use it to turn the converter on.
If you have direct tv, you can just go to the menu and look for the code for the specific TV. And if you find the code, you have to know how to program that certain remote control. And if not just go to a Electronics store and buy a ten dollar remote and get the codes off of the instructions. They should definitely have the codes.
I could not get the my Shaper Image 7 in 1 remote to program for my Vizio TV. The included codes did not work and neither did the "code identification" method included in the instructions. Tried these instructions off another website for a Sharper Image Jumbo remote and they worked! I had to hit the power button about 50 times before I hit the right code. 1 -Turn the device on that you want to use with the remote. 2 - Point the remote at the device and press the "Code Search" button the remote. Hold that button down for a few seconds and the LED lights on the remote will turn on. 3 - Press the mode button on the remote for the device you turned on. 4 - Start pressing the "On/Off" button located on the remote. Press "On/Off" once every two seconds until the electronic device powers down. This could take you several minutes because there are hundreds of different codes. 5 - Press "Enter" on the remote after the device turns off to save the code on the remote. If you push the On/Off button too fast you might zip right past the code you want and have to start over again, so take it slow and concentrate on what you are doing.
To program the remote with the codes, firstly, turn on the electronic gadget for which you are going to use this remote, by pressing the On and Off button. Then locate the Setup or the Code Search key on the remote control. These buttons may vary from remote to remote. Just hold on the setup or the code search key for 5 - 10 seconds or till the light on the remote
No, the TiVo TCD652160 will not be able to record from a Blu Ray disc because of copy protection laws.
I was able to use the code 11314 with my Hisense TV. My Directv remote now controls the volume as well as the on/off power but unfortunately not the tv input.
also need code to turn Phillips vcr on and off. or maybe get codes for a russound universal remote to turn on/off Phillips vcr and vizio television. thanks
The correct code is tv mode actually toshiba 5102 although does not give any options other than volume & channel up and down and off on I have yet to configure how to retain auto scan options
I was able to use the code search on a GE 4 function remote, I found the remote for $5 at Big Lots. I started the search with the TV on and let it run until it shut the TV off. Steps I took, press and hold the setup key - then release, press and release the TV button, press and release the power button, after TV turns off then press the #1 button to lock in the code. This remote does almost everything but the sleep button.
