Only Pope Francis and God know what Pope Francis thinks.
Since all proceedings of a Papal Conclave are secret, we will probably never know the answer to that question.

We all pray he is. However, he has only been pope for a short time and it will take time for us to know what sort of pope we now have. Right now (early 2015) he has many Catholic baffled. Some days he seems very conservative and other times he seems ultra liberal.
Since what happens in the conclave is secret, we do now know. However, a deceased cardinal left his journal which became public after his death and he stated that Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was the person to garner the second greatest number of votes in the conclave. If Francis was beatified, the date is not available. However, he was canonized on July 16, 1228, by Pope Gregory IX. The canonization process had only recently been introduced at the time of the canonization of St. Francis. There may not have even been a beatification stage to canonization at the time. We do know that Francis was on the 'fast track' to sainthood as he was canonized less than 2 years after his death.
