i heard that sasuke regrets killing itachi because madara (tobi) told sasuke that he was innocent. he told him half way that konaha hokage told itachi to kill the uchiha clan for a good reason because they knew they will cause a fight against the sanjou clan who were higher than the uchiha clan at that time. sasuke starts to go against konaha and wants to destroy it. its in the manga. but when the village is destroyed by pain (nagato) he just resorts to killing the hidden leaf elders and the 6th hokage as well as the other kages
