Does Sasuke still care for sakura?

I truly hope that Sasuke and Sakura will be together by the end of Naruto Shippuden. I don't care how long it takes for the series to end. Because, if you think about it, there wouldn't even be SasuSaku fans if the manga itself didn't bring up hints that Sasuke actually cares for Sakura (as stated in the above points), so i think that if the manga allowed Sasuke to care for Sakura (in Naruto) then it will happen again (in Naruto Shippuden- no matter how long that takes). AND, even though Sasuke tried to kill Sakura and although he did not seem to hesitate, in the end, he didn't kill her. People always pinpoint this fact and say that, it is only because Kakashi came in and saved Sakura, that she didn't die.

But in my opinion, because Kishimoto made it so that Sakura didn't die under the hands of Sasuke, it still leaves hope for Sasuke because as long as they don't make sasuke kill sakura (or kakashi or naruto etc) there is still hope.

And if i am wrong, and that the writers really did want sakura to be killed by sasuke why did they have to have kakashi come in and save her? i dont think it is because they wanted to keep her character alive.. i mean sakura doesn't really do anything.. and her being dead would be an advantage for the writers because if sakura is killed by sasuke naruto would try to avenge sakura hence putting the series into an even more interesting level, but the writers didn't do that because even though they made sasuke turn into the darkness they still leave fans with the hope that someday he will comeback. Just my honest opinion.

So if you think about it, for those who think that there is some hope for sasuke who has turned to the dark side, see him kill someone he has once cared for once upon a time (i.e. sakura), it is like proof/evidence that he has DEFINITLEY turned evil. But we didn't see that happen, did we?

I think Kishimoto (the writer) didn't let sasuke kill sakura because he still wants us to believe that there is still hope for sasuke. And what better way to let sasusaku fans know that, by using sakura as the one to be almost killed by sasuke? on the surface it may look like sasuke really wanted to kill sakura but the fact that he didn't in the end (doesn't matter if the only reason she is still alive is because of kakashi and naruto) in the end sasuke did not kill sakura. Kishimoto made it that way. And why did he do that? Because he wants us to believe that one day sasuke WILL look back. And i believe that he will. NO MATTER HOW MUCH HE HATES KONOHA, NO MATTER HOW MUCH HE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT SAKURA OR NARUTO. In the end, he will turn around.
