Actually, in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle he kept his promise to Maria AND Amy Rose. Since that it has been called "The Miracle of Love" So personally I do think Shadow has an affection on Amy... not sure. Some say that in SA2B Amy cried for Shadow after saving the world with Sonic he disappeared.. so they thought he died... (HE DIDN'T DIE! They THOUGHT HE DID.)
