It should have a 50 / 50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water in the engine
cooling system all year round . Besides providing freeze protection the
antifreeze provides corrosion protection ( until the corrosion inhibitors are
" used up " )
Overheating, oil in the water of radiator, water in the oil. Less power.
Yes, you would put the water in the reservoir.
approx. 2gal.
6.0 gallons
I was looking at the Ford F-250 7.3L DIESEL supplement and it shows : The engine cooling system capacity is 32.75 U.S. quarts ( includes the heater and the recovery reservoir ) * So , for a 50 / 50 mix of distilled water and the correct type of antifreeze it would take almost ( 16.38 quarts of antifreeze mixed with an equal amount of distilled water )
your oil cooler is leaking
It will serve the purpose and may fit perfectly or you may have to do a little modification.
2005 f250 needs the pink antifreeze if you use the green stuff you will gum up the engine and cause seriuos damage
Do this with the engine cold. At the base of the neck of the top radiator hose there are two bolts. Take those two bolts out and the thermostat is right there. lift it out and put the new one in. Then put the radiator hose back on and check the coolant level. I just had to do this on my '89 f250.
Always at the bottom. Taking off, a bottom hose, will usually do the same thing; drain same.
Low coolant, bad thermostat, bad fan or fan clutch, damaged radiator, debris filled radiator. Check your lines. Worst case scenario, blown head gasket.
i have a 94 f350 dually 1 ton w/351 I need a radiator and found one on Craig's list for af250 . Do I need find out what engine came out of his truck or are they just interchangeable
