the 1984 cutlass had a computer but not to the extent of todays cars, I really don't understand your question.
Trouble code P0401 means:Exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected
That code is a transmission slip same code came on with my 96 Cutlass Supreme
Code 44 is an Oxygen sensor code meaning exhaust is to lean. Replace Oxygen sensor. Then clear codes. This should solve the problem.
Possibly, try it for 5 minutes. Won't do any good unless you repair the problem. It will just come back on.
Sometimes the computer goes through several "cycles" before it clears a code. If the Oxygen sensor and Map sensor codes don't clear within a few starting cycles it's possible that one or both were bad when you put them in. Read the codes again and see what it says.
Code 42 on an Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera means you have a faulty ignition control module. You should inspect all electrical connectors to ensure they are tight.
Check your RPO codes. If it has an U75 than it had a power antenna. If it has RPO code US6 it has a painted fixed antenna. There was only one style power antenna used from the factory.
AutoZone likely couldn't pull the code for your 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme because that model predates the OBD-II standard, which was implemented in 1996. Instead, it uses the older OBD-I system, which requires a specific diagnostic tool that many auto parts stores do not have. Additionally, if the vehicle's check engine light is not illuminated, there may not be any codes to retrieve.
Its a suspension package... sportier suspension basically, with better brakes and a better cooling system too i think. This is right from a service manual. RPO code FE3 stands for Sport Suspension System

The adjustment bolt is very hard to get to. It is at the top of the pump just behind the Pully. You will have to slip a 15 mm open end wrench in from the top. You're only going to be able to get about a sixth of a turn at a time . You probably have a double pulley and the front groove has a belt that goes to the alternator on it. You will have to loosen the alternator first, adjusted pump, and then readjust the alternator. That's not a 305 Engine, that is a 307 engine. Y engine code in a Cutlass Supreme, 9 engine code in a 442. I just changed this belt yesterday. :-)
The P1406 code on a 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera 3.1 is the code for the EGR pintle position circuit. I know this because it was my question initially and we bought a code reader to check the problem. It is a factory specific code, so the answer is quite specific. Good luck !
