In a 2007 Saturn VUE : The 2.2 liter four cylinder has a timing CHAIN The 3.5 liter V6 has a timing BELT
100,000 miles.
On a 2005 Saturn Vue : The 2.2 liter four cylinder engine has a timing CHAIN , and the 3.5 liter V6 engine has a timing BELT
The 2.2 liter - 4 cylinder - in a 2003 Saturn VUE must have a timing CHAIN because Gates ( they make timing belts etc. ) doesn't list a timing belt
The 2004 Saturn Vue 2.2L Engine Uses a Timing CHAIN. It is Much better than a belt, and for 2004, Saturn fixed the issue with poor oil pressure on the timing chain and they last much longer than their predecessors.
According to the Gates website ( they make timing belts etc. ) the 3.0 liter - V6 engine in a 2003 Saturn Vue has a timing BELT
The 2006 Saturn Vue uses a Honda engine and transmission. This Honda V6 engine has a timing belt which must be replaced every 100,000 miles. The water pump should also be replaced at the same time as it is driven by the cam belt. Warning:This is an interference engine. Serious engine damage will occur if the belt breaks.
2004 saturn vue v6
It has a timing belt. In fact, all cars have timing belts, due to the nature of the piston combustion engine. Motor bikes have timing chains.
As you listed this in the Saturn Vue category I will assume you have a Saturn Vue. The 2004 and up Saturn Vue engine was manufactured by Honda and it is an interference engine. The belt and water pump must be replaced every 100,000 miles. All other years used a GM V6 that was also an interference engine. The 4 cylinder Saturn Vue did not use a belt but had a chain.
On a 2008 Saturn Vue , you don't mention the engine size , but the 2.4 liter four cylinder uses a timing CHAIN ( also the V6 )
