No it doesn't the Fuel Pump is hooked to the side of the engine.

In most vehicles you have to actually lower the fuel tank and take the pump out of the top. This is not as complicated as it sounds if you are methodical and mechanically adept.

if the fuel pump is in the gas tank on your 1999 as it is on my 1996 f250 5.8, then remove tank to get to fuel pump. follow direction included with pump and reinstal tank. ive done it twice on my fords.....no problem........b

there could be 2 fuel pumps on that truck one would be in the tank and one on the frame rail if it only has one pump it will only have one in the tank
The 1996 Ford F2 50 high pressure fuel pump is located inside of the gas tank. The high pressure fuel pump can be purchased from most auto-parts stores.
