You cant 'get' a tapir but you can see them in captivity tapirs are incredibly endangered so lots of zoo's are breeding them so any zoo will do
Probably not. You are not allowed to buy or sell tapirs, or to use one for any commercial purpose, but if a tapir wandered onto land that you owned, or if you inherited a tapir from, say, your uncle, then it would be yours.
Singapore's national animal is lion. It was so because the first person (Sang Nila Utama) who found Singapore saw a lion before any other animals (including humans). The Merlion, Crimson Sunbird and Peacock bass are the national animals of Singapore.
It is neither. Nor are any other animals, for that matter.
In general, tapir are more active at night than during the day. Some are crepuscular, meaning they are active near dusk and dawn. However, they may be active at any time.
A palaeothere is any species of the Palaeotheriidae, an extinct family of mammals related to the tapir and rhinoceros.

No animal can be healthy or comfortable in a cage. It doesn't matter how large the cage is. I would not recommend having a tapir in captivity, unless it is for conservation purposes, but if you do have a tapir for any reason, it needs an enclosure, not a cage. Make the enclosure as large as you can, and make sure it is full of good plants to eat and areas for stimulation, like a pool.
