The year of your Chevrolet Blazer will determine whether it has front shocks for front struts. Front shocks are held in place by a retaining bolt on each end of the shock. Remove the retaining bolts and the shock will come off. Reverse the process to install the new shock.
The 4Runner doesn't have struts; it has coil-over shocks in front. After removing the old shocks a spring compressor is required to remove the springs and install them on the new shocks. Take it to a front end shop that has the proper compressor and tools; it's very dangerous if you don't have good equipment and experience. The rear shocks are easy to replace by yourself.
The Toyota Corolla All-Trac Wagon uses struts in the front end. Many Toyota vehicles use a front strut assembly unless otherwise noted.

struts need replacing !!there is a lot of weight on them with engine and transmition both up there, they can wear twice as fast as your rear shocks
