nothing will happen to it they are both white but if it was a blue wool sweater and a white cotton shirt the shirt will turn blue other way around same thing sweater turns blue the cotton shirt turns back to the color white cause it loses all of its color. :) ;) :p
In my opinion, I would go with either a plain black tie or a black and blue(preferrably royal) plaid tie. Occasionally, a black based tie with royal blue stripes would work too.
Quit being a woman and pick a shirt
Black shirt
Scarlet Red tie and white shirt. Or. Black tie and white shirt. Or. White tie and dark blue shirt. Or. Electric blue tie and black shirt.
The two colors do go together! However if I were you I wouldn't wear the red under the blue. If you had a red sweater and wore bright blue under that it would look great!

Brown would be better but without the dark blue shirt, maybe a brown shirt and brown shoes or a black shirt and black shoes. That would be much better. Dark blue and tan= wrong.
Black or Dark Blue
A bar or bat mitzvah has no effect on the color of a prayer shawl. Jewish prayer shawls can be any color. In Orthodox synagogues, they are almost always white with black stripes (or blue stripes).
