You need to identify your state. Only CDLs are classed universally throughout all states - all other drivers licenses are up to the states to classify as they see fit.
If you're operating a commercial vehicle with a GVWR in excess of 10,000 lbs. across state lines, yes.
For Class 7 and Class 8 trucks which are registered farm use vehicles, most states require the operator have a current DOT medical card.
To operate ANY vehicle which requires a CDL of ANY class in ALL states (this is federal law - it doesn't vary by state), the driver must have, along with the appropriate class of CDL (A, B, C), a DOT Medical Card. However, this is assuming you're were referring to a Class C CDL - several states issue a non-CDL Class C licence.
Anyone can possess a medical marijuana card, but it's illegal to drive impaired. This is currently a grey area in the law as impairment laws have not addressed marijuana, so it's best not to be pulled over.
All classes of CDL require a DOT medical card - A, B, and C. Additionally, anyone operating a commercial vehicle with a GVWR in excess of 10,000 lbs. is required to have one, even if the vehicle doesn't require a CDL.
Call medical clinics in your area and ask if they do DOT physicals.
CDROM drives dont normally require a "driver card" as they are IDE devices which plug into the motherboards built-in IDE controller.
Find a company which is hiring and will provide OTJ training. It'll require some leg work on your part, but they are out there.
They would need a medical card if the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating was over 10,000 lbs, AND it was being used for commercial purposes, AND it was being operated across state lanes.Beyond that point, once you get into weight ratings requiring a CDL, then you'd need a medical card at all times.
A limo only requires a CDL is if it's designed to transport more than 15 persons (including the driver). Therefore, any which doesn't would not fall under CDL regulations. Some states require a chauffeur's license for livery vehicles, taxis, buses designed for 15 persons or less (including the driver)... in those cases, it is the state's determination as to whether or not they'll require the operator to possess a current DOT medical card or not.
That depends on state regulations for vehicles of that class. If it's hauling hazardous materials, or is designed to transport more than 15 persons (including the driver), it requires a CDL, and you will need a medical card.
Only if you're operating a commercial vehicle with a GVW of more than 10,000 lbs. across state lines or getting a CDL - both require a valid DOT medical card.
Yes, depending on the state a driver may also need a DOT Physical Exam and carry the DOT Medical Examination Card with them. One may also need to upgrade their driver's license to a Class A or B.
