A compound word is a combination of two smaller words, such as "beehive". "Beehive" is a compound word because it is made up of 2 different words; "bee" and "hive", that were put together as a single word.

The name for a word that is separated at the end of a line between syllables is called...well, actually I don't think there's a name for it. Hope this helps.

A compound word is a word made up of two or more smaller words that are combined to create a new word with its own meaning. It does not refer to separating words at the end of a line; that is related to line breaks in poetry or text formatting.
