Answer:

Yes because a female is faster than a male.

Answer:

To the first answer: There is no evidence of this. All domestic cats can run at 30mph, although some cats will be faster or slower than this. This depends on the cat's build, not its gender.

Likewise, a cat's individual personality and hunting skill will dictate whether it is a good hunter or not, not the gender.

I have had both male and female cats. I've found male cats to be friendly and less 'catty.'

How has a lion adapted to suit its environment?

Lions have adapted to their environment in several ways: -A lion's tawny brown color helps it blend in to its surroundings. -Lions have thick necks which protect their vulnerable jugulars from enemies. -The lion's body is naturally adept at hunting in its environment: a lion can run at high speeds, crouch suddenly, and stealthily advance over rocky terrain. -There are many more female lions than male lions. Is the male lion the leader?

No. The male lion is not a successful hunter. Female lions are much more successful hunters. The males are wandering, and share meals with any pride that happens to be within their ever-changing territory. Male lions do hunt, and quite successfully. After being driven from their pride at sexual maturity, young males often form "bachelor" prides. These nomads roam until fully mature, when they can attempt to take over a pride. In the mean time, they must hunt and scavenge what they can to survive. Although not as skilled as the lioness, males can and do hunt. A male driven from his pride by three interlopers was seen to kill topi, wildebeest, and buffalo calves for a period of two years before he left the research area.
