Years ago with the old type of powder I would say a longer barrel would be an advantage, but with todays hotter , quicker burning powder you do not need to lug around that 30" barrel for the sake of hold a tighter pattern. I found that out when I bought a 10 gauge with a 30" barrel and realized I was being outshot by the magnums with 26" barrels and less.

Can you shoot 00 buckshot in full choke shotgun barrel?

Each shotgun will perform a little differently but as a rule the answer is "yes" and in theory the result should be a little tighter pattern than with a larger choke at the same distance. However, one caveat to that answer is that the tighter choke may in some cases cause sufficient deformity of the lead pellets so as to disturb their flight enough to enlarge or distort the pattern, especially at longer distances.

Does the length of a shotgun barrel affects the distance of the shot?

Yes, the longer the barrel the longer the shot.

What is each shotgun choke used for?

Shotgun chokes, whether they be screw-in choke tubes or fixed-chokes (permanent part of the barrel) are used to control the diameter and density of the pellet pattern at a specific distance. Example: An improved cylinder (IC) choke would produce a larger diameter (more open) pattern at around 30 yards. This style of choke is used for close shooting at upland game birds over a pointing dog. A full choke (F) has a tighter constriction so the pattern would be smaller in diameter with more pellets so it would be a better choice for longer distances if hunting ducks or geese. It's always a good idea to "pattern" a shotgun barrel by shooting at a large sheet of paper at various distances to actually see how the barrel's choke and your chosen shotgun shell load react to one another. This way you can actually measure the results of your chosen combination.

Is there a shotgun of Nerf?

Nerf has recently debuted the Barrel Break IX-2, a double-barrel shotgun that uses Whistler darts. It has very short barrels, though. If you want a longer one, you can go to BuzzBee and their Double Shot weapon.

When to use choke tubes?

You use the choke tube which is appropriate to the use of the shotgun. Choke tubes are short sections of tube which screws into the muzzle end of the shotgun barrel. Different tubes hve different amounts of constriction (full, modified, improved, cylinder bore, etc). The tighter the constriction, the more the shot column is kept together and thus the more dense the shot column. This keeps the column together longer as it flies down range and thus will put more pellets into the target. Tighter shot column also means that the pattern doesn't spread out as much and thus it's harder to hit a given target.

How do you use adjustable choke on shotgun?

Many of the adjustable chokes are adjusted by turning the choke. (If it does not turn with moderate hand force, it is probably gunked up with carbon- let soak in a good powder solvent for a day or two and try again). They work by squeezing movable strip closer together, or further apart- the tighter the squeeze, the tighter the choke. A tighter choke holds the shot column together longer, and gives a smaller pattern that has greater range.

Is the barrel on the Winchester 1300 wtf interchangeable to a longer barrel?

Yes as long as you get one made for the Winchester model 1300 and chambered for the same length of shotgun shell that the receiver is chambered for.

What kind of choke would you use if you wanted the ammo to hold together longer?

A full or extra full choke will hold shot in a tighter pattern

Is it legal for me to shorten the barrel on my shotgun?

As long as you don't violate BATFE regulations on overall length (26" or longer) and barrel length (minimum 18"). Your barrel has to be over 18" long! I have shortened several, and make them at least 18 1/2" from the closed bolt, usually longer. Otherwise you are committing a federal felony.

Does a longer airsoft barrel account to anything?

Longer barrels to increase accuracy and fps slightly, but getting tighter bore barrels has a much greater effect on both. Also, the effect of barrel length works in a way that the longer a barrel is, the less effect a barrel extension has. For example, replacing a pistol barrel with one that is 3 inches longer has a much larger effect on the pistols accuracy than adding 3 inches to a sniper rifle barrel has on the sniper's accuracy. Fps increases with increased barrel lengths are usually negligible, while tight bore barrels can increase fps by up to 15%. If you are going to change the barrel I would recommend a tight bore over a longer barrel (if you can do both then go right ahead). When buying a stock gun, barrel length is something to consider though, because the differences can be quite significant, especially between "normal" rifles and bullpups.

What is the oldest long tom shot gun?

The term "Long Tom" was used to denote a muzzle loading cannon that had a barrel much longer than standard. While slower to load, it had greater range. Over the years it has been applied to guns with a longer than usual barrel, notably shotguns. It is a name used by several makers- the earliest that I have found is between the late 1890's and early 1900s, but they were made up into the 1920s."Long Tom" was an unofficial name for a muzzle loading cannon with a much longer than usual barrel- slower to load, greater range. The name was borrowed by shotgun makers around 1900 to denote a shotgun (usually a single shot) with a longer than usual barrel. Not a brand name, but a model name.
