No, in wizard101 when you first start monsters patroll the streets and in certain quests you have to duel them. All you really have to do is one simple spell and be done with it, but in other worlds like MooShu and Marleybone it gets a little harder than that. If I were you, I'd be a little more afraid of the bosses. They aren't that hard, but they have more health than the monsters.
