There is no such thing as the nook fire. The Kindle Fire however has only 3G The Nook has both options.
The best Nook reader can probably be purchased at Barnes & Noble. This is their signature e-reader. There are at least three types of Nook readers: The Nook Simple Touch Reader, Nook 3G 1st Edition, and the Nook Color Wifi eBook EReader.
Kindle 3 is better because it's free if you get the 3g version.. and k3 is better then nook black and white in contrast since it's newer, so reading online is better - also, nook does not have text to speech. Text to speech makes internet much more fun... Nook color has no 3g, just wifi.
A nook and a kindle are the same thing that do the same things. HOWEVER... one has more than the other. If you are interested about the books rather than just the 3G features and games and such, the nook (by Barnes and Noble) has more than 2 million books available, some of them are even free. The Kindle (by Amazon) only has around 700,000. The kindle has free 3G everywhere you go that connects to the internet, but the nook has 3G for buying books in its store. The nook also has a lending feature so you can borrow or lend books that you buy, and even check out books from the library from the comfort of your couch.
You would only need one if you would have a 3G or 4G connection.
All depends which kind here are some prices though:Kindle-Kindle 3 is $139 w/ wifi and $189 w/ wi-fi + 3G which requires Monthly paymentsKindle DX is $379Nook-Nook is $149 w/ wifi and $199 for Nook w/ wifi + 3G which requires Monthly paymentsNOOKcolor [which I highly recommend) is $249 w/ wifi and has a full touchscreen!
The top sellers for eReaders are Appleå«s iPad Mini, Kindle Fire HD, Nook HD, Kindle Paperwhite 3G, Nook Simple Touch with Glow Light, Nook Tablet, Nook Color, Kobo Glo Wireless eReader, and ECTACO jetBook Lite.
I own the nook 3g (not the nookCOLOR) and I love it not only is it only $149 but it is wi-fi compatible and easy to buy books considering it is hooker up straight to barnes and nobles, I recommend the nook 3g because even the people who work at barnes and nobles will tell you the NookColor has a very bad glare and you cannot read it in direct sunlight like the Nook 3g I hope this helps make your decision!
The Nook (or NOOK) is an ereader under the Barnes and Nobles label using Android opensource. The original Nook has either 3g (through ATT) or Wifi. Current models include the Color, Simple Touch, and the Wifi-only tablet.
Yes, you can get on the web using its WIFI feature. One nook also has a 3G feature so you can always buy books from anywhere you go, internet or no internet.
No. It all comes in one package with no extra fees. (other than buying the books.)
**No, because it will be too expensive if gets stolen. **According to the local B&N where I live the company is making one but the release date has not been named.
