Unless it is a family heirloom, then no the young woman does not need to give the ring back to her ex fiance. He gave it to her as a gift and it is hers. There is no reason he should want it back because if he met another woman and wanted to give her an engagement ring she would not appreciate getting a ring he had given his previous love.
If you are the male, you don't get it back. It is considered a gift. ---- Not true. An engagement ring is commonly considered a conditional gift only finally given upon entering marriage. Most states have ruled in a no fault manner, meaning that if the engagement is broken off for any reason the woman would be required to give the ring back. ---- All the research I've done indicates that Illinois courts would most likely not return the gift (ring) upon termination of the engagement.
If the poisned person is male it give them an erection. If the person person is female they die.
I am answering this not from a legal point but from what I a male/gentleman perspective. If an engagement ring was given to a lady, that will be forever hers to do with as she pleases, regardless of what happens after the giving of the ring. I man should not ask for it back, however he should it accept it back only if first offered to him. The world of engagement traditions are covered in summary form at www.diamondseverlasting.com and unlike many of the other clear cut traditions, the question posed here is less common and hope my guidance assists
