When you test a dog jaw strengh, the dog doesn't bite as hard as it could. When a pitbull hangs by it's jaw, you can't record the preasure because the mouse is closed. Jaw bite pressure tests couldn't bring accuratte results.
They have a bite force between 20-30 lbs
Pit Bull Bite: 235 pounds of force In comparison… German Shepherd: 238 pounds of force Rottweiler: 328 pounds of force Lion: 691 pounds of force Hyena: 1000 pounds of force
The dog's height, and head size answers it. A german shepherd's bite force is secondary to the pitbull. But a german shepherd is still stronger. BITE FORCE LIST 1. rottweiler 2. german shepherd 3. pitbull
Slightly. Pit Bull Bite: 235 pounds of force German Shepherd: 238 pounds of force In comparison… Rottweiler: 328 pounds of force Lion: 691 pounds of force Hyena: 1000 pounds of force
Because bite force is correlated to the size of the head and jaw, the bigger the head, the bigger the bite. Chalk one up for the German Shepherd here, as it is larger than the pitbull and therefore has a larger bite. However, in a fight, it would be a bit of a different story. Bite force counts for nothing if you cannot land that bite. The pitbull is more compact and has a lower center of gravity, so it stands a good chance against the semi-lanky, lighter-framed German Shepherd. The situation depends entirely on the situation and the animals at hand. Hope this helped!
Rottwieler has a stronger bite but pitbull had lock jaw which can do more damage
The average bite force of a bulldog varies from 160 and 210 lbs per square inch. Just as a matter of comparison of where a Bulldog falls in the animal kingdom, the bite force of various animals were measured for a National Geographic program. A Hyena was measured at 1000 pounds of force, a Lion's bite force measured 691, a Shark 669, and a Rottweiler 328 pounds of force. A German shepherd came in at 238, and a Pitbull's bite was measured at 235 pounds of force.
