not because its a turbo but a diesel will at very very cold temps. for an extended time
You can flush the block thru the line to the heater core at the firewall. This will flush the heater core also.
You still need to flush the engine block and heater core.
first your going to need to unbolt and lift out the engine block, one that's done you take a hammer and smack everything in sight then one you have ligitimatley ruined your engine drop the engine block back in and toss the turbo ontop and slam the hood shut and you should be good to go
There is not one and u don't need one. Only diesels need a block heater for cold weather unless you live in a ver cold climate where it gets below -10 degrees Fahrenheit.
Not unless you are in an area with temps way below 0F all the time.
Yes they do. Some do not have the plug on the front but the heater is in the block. If you plan on using this heater, you will need to buy a heater cord from your dealer and connect it. It's real simple! You just remove a cap from the side of the block on the passenger side and then connect you cord to it and fish the plug in end of your cord tothe front of the truck for easy connecting.
You can put a Turbo on your 1992 engine. You will need to purchase a air intake Turbo modification kit.
yes in a way. block heaters heat the coolant in the block there for warming the block up. coolant heaters heat the coolant out side the engine like in the hoses and radiater. and when the coolant gets hot enough it opens the thermosate and starts flowing through the engine..The coolant heater should be hooked into the engine so that it heats only the engine and the heater core. If the coolant heater is trying to heat the radiator then it will not work very well to heat the engine, you would need a lot of BTUs to heat the radiator as it will shed all that heat to the air that is surrounding it.
no, u should not hear anything when block heater is plugged in
The sensor is on the front of the engine block. it has a single wire going to it and you have to access it from underneath. You'll need a 10mm wrench.
The port for the block heater is a small hole approx. the size of a quarter located on the windshield side of the motor, closer to the driver side of the car. It is just below the head (top part of motor) in the cylinder block. Make sure the hole is clean of dirt and debris by blowing it out, then simply push the heater element in until it clicks, that's it! ...well then you should plug the cord in... but that's it I swear!
