well no because you are an American citezen you can visit the U.K without a visa as long as you stay less than 90 days if wish to stay longer or work in the u.k you need to get a visa contact the british embassy.

∙ 14y agoBoth a passport and visa are required to enter Nigeria. You will also need a passport to re-enter the US (and Nigeria will check your visa upon departure as well). If you're not familiar with the distinction: a passport is issued by the country of which you are a citizen, and documents your identity and citizenship; a visa is issued by the country you are visiting, and documents that you are in the country legally. Not all countries require visas; for those that do, you generally obtain them from their consulate or embassy in the US.
