A web-owner does not ususally earn money from his website visitors in any direct manner, unless his web site is selling something and that visitor is there for the specific reason to purchase something from that site. However, there are benefits to drawing visitors to your site. One is advertising, people can rent advertising space on a web site with links to their site. The other main benefit, is a little more complicated. Have you ever done a search with a search engine and you come up with 2,045 results? The listings go on for pages, right? But most people choose something off the first page, one of the first listings, who has time to search 2,045 results right. So how do these listing get rated? In other words who get to be on page 1 and who on page 20. Well, that's where the number of hits to your web page come in. The more hits you get, the more traffic to your site, the higher on that list you are listed. The higher on the list you are, the more traffic to your site, and the more money you make in the end get it!
