The term womb drop actually is inaccurate. What actually happens is the baby drops further down in the womb. His head becomes engaged in the pelvis which means his head is pressing against the cervix, or the doctor/midwife will say the head is applied against the cervix.
In a first pregnancy this can happen a couple weeks before the baby is due. But it is exciting. it means everything is working and the time is getting close.
A woman who has already had a baby, sometimes doesn't "drop" until right around the time she goes into labor, or is in labor.
