Since the price of the PSOne games is so low, you should just buy the games you like best and throw out your burned copies. Possession of illegally obtained copies can be punished by fines and jail time.
A PS3 will play PSOne games, but really, why bother? Sell your PSOne and games and buy some new PS3 games. but ps1 games are worth nothing now so you should just keep them for a collection or throw them out!
no, only the original 60 gb consoles have the backwards compatability feature.
However, if you bought your 80GB PS3 with the MotorStorm or the Metal Gear Solid 4 pack, you can. As long as it has 4 USB Ports.
More than one model of 80 GB was produced by Sony and only the first model produced in 2007 will play the PS2 games the model that came out in 2008 will not play the PS2 games. The 80 GB model only plays the PS2 games with a partially software based emulation and not as effective as the USA 60 GB model that was also using the hardware that was eliminated on the 80 GB model and the PAL 60 GB model. A better way to tell if a PS3 can play PS2 games is if it has 4 USB ports. When the ports were eliminated they also eliminated the PS2 software
Of course you can.
All three types of ps3's support PS and ps2 games.
Why wouldn't it?
This is a myth you do not determine the backward compatibility by harddrive size. The myth has helped keep the resale price up on Fat PS3s. The truth is that if you have a PS3 with 80 GB and 4 USB ports it is an early PS3 that will play some PS2 game titles, but less than the 60 GB model because it now is partially software based emulation. The change became necessary for the PS3 60 GB PAL model in Europe dealing with the region control of the PS2. see related link
In 2008 when the second 80 GB PS3 was released it had only 2 USB ports and it also no longer had any PS2 emulation software and can not play any PS2 games. The only PS3 models that ever could play PS2 games were the ones with 4 USB ports see related link
Yes you can but sometimes you get black & white
i normally use Nero to make dvd's
Unless you burnt a Blu-Ray disk with the EXACT game.... highly unlikely.
You can play the select PlayStation one Games that the PS3 is backwards compatible with.
You can play them on the model with 4 USB ports and on later models with 2 USB ports they are not backward compatible. see related link
sorry but no.
PS3 can play PS2 games.
Unfortunately you can not play PS2 games on the PS3 80GB, they are not compatable.
No. It's the 60GB that can play PS2 games.
No a UK PS3 80GB can not play PS2 games. When the PS3 60 GB was initially launched it had the ability to do so.
Only the first generation 80Gb and 60Gb can play ps2 games. All the others cannot play ps2 games
Mine does, some games wouldnt play for some odd reason but my 80GB does play PS2 games
All PlayStation 3s should be able to play PlayStation games. Only the 80GB, 4USB model can play PS2 games.
Only the 80GB, 4USB PlayStation 3 can play PlayStation 2 games.
if you got a ps3 slim no you cant if you have an older version of the ps3 it has to be 60gb or 80gb to play ps2 games
Only on the 80GB console with 4 USB ports as you can see in the PSN related link But there is no PS3 80gb with 4 USB ports so no you can only play PS2 games on a 60gb PS3 the only one with 4 USB ports and memory card reader
no
Yes, an early PS3 model of the 80GB with 4 USB ports could play some PS2 game titles. The 2 USB port PS3 80 GB models do not play PS2 games and software or hardware changes can not provide backward compatibility to them according to Sony
