No one really "lives" on the peak of Mt. Everest, Sherpas can stay up there very long, but no one actually lives there.
The conditions on the top of Mount Everest are not such that you would stay alive for long if you stayed on the top any longer than absolutely necessary. People die on a regular basis just trying to get up there. and nobody has ever been up there until 1953 and because of the cold and extremely low air pressure it is not a place where you can live for long.
